Lighting camphors or lamps inside trains will attract 3 years of imprisonment, warns Southern railways

Coimbatore : Salem railway division has warned that passengers will be imprisoned for 3 years, if they are found lighting camphor or lamps inside the train.

Coimbatore : Salem railway division has warned that passengers will be imprisoned for 3 years, if they are found lighting camphor or lamps inside the train. 

"Devotees who indulge in lighting camphors or lamps inside the train will be punished according to Railway act of 1999. Three years imprisonment and fine will be leived on such offenders for carrying inflammable materials in trains", a release from the Salem division railways said. 

The officials of Southern railways have also urged the fellow passengers to stay alert and inform the officials on such violations. "Passengers can also dial helpline 182, to register such complaints" the statement added.
