Toll free number launched to curb circulation of black money during elections

Coimbatore: Upon the instructions of the election commission, the district election officer has launched a separate monitoring wing to record complaints and to curb the use of black money and illegal inducements in the poll process.


Coimbatore: Upon the instructions of the election commission, the district election officer has launched a separate monitoring wing to record complaints and to curb the use of black money and illegal inducements in the poll process.

A toll-free control room has been launched in the Collectorate for the general public to alert about any suspicious movement of "large sums of cash" in the district in the run up to the general election polls.

The toll free telephone No 1800 425 6669 will be monitored round-the-clock, said the release.
