In this situation, three wild elephants, who had left the forest area last night, were found roaming in 21.Padi area of Akkamalai Estate near Valparai.

The iron gate and window of the Mariamman temple were broken. The elephants went inside and also damaged the objects there. Seeing this, the people of the area shouted and chased away the elephants after a long struggle.
In view of the increasing movement of wild elephants, the public have demanded that the forest department should take immediate steps to prevent elephants from entering the residential areas.
