Coimbatore: The forest department has chased away wild elephants that were camping near the agricultural land at the foothills of Kuppepalayam hill in Thondamuthur in Coimbatore.

Usually, a herd of wild elephants descends from the forest area on the hill, crosses the foothills and then goes into the forest. In this situation, for the past few days, wild elephants have been invading the agricultural lands at the foothills of Kuppepalayam hills.



Accordingly, 5 forest elephants, which came down from the hill in the wee hours yesterday, are camping near the agricultural land there. As a result, the farmers are afraid that they will not be able to go for agricultural work.
