Government bus damaged after Lanka corner vehicle barrier falls on it in Coimbatore

A government bus was damaged after a subway pillar near the Lanka Corner railway bridge in Coimbatore suddenly fell on it.

Coimbatore: The Lanka Corner Railway Subway is located on the way from coimbatore government hospital to town hall. Vehicles of high altitude cannot pass through this tunnel.

As a result, an iron barrier has been set up in front of the tunnel to park vehicles in advance.

As usual, when the government bus was passing through the bus, the stepney tyre kept on the top of the bus hit the iron railing, causing the iron barrier to break and fall on the bus.

The rear windshield of the bus was shattered. But luckily there was no impact on the passengers.

Following this, the traffic police reached the spot and are carrying out the work of removing the barricades.

Due to this, traffic has been disrupted and buses are plying on alternate routes. A major untoward incident has been averted as two-wheelers and cars did not turn up when the iron barrier fell.
