Tragedy strikes 1 year old girl accidentally drowns in water bucket near Vadavalli

In a tragic incident, A one-year-old girl who was playing at home near Vadavalli, Coimbatore, fell into a bucket of water left behind after cleaning the house and died.



Coimbatore: A one-year-old girl drowned in a water bucket near Vadavalli in a terrible occurrence.

Bhagyaraj (33), an IT employee, is from E.P. Colony in Coimbatore, near Vadavalli. He had been married to Gayatri for six years and had a five-year-old daughter as well as two daughters, Varshika and Varnika, at the age of one.

In this case Gayathri, who completed the cooking work as usual last night, cleaned the house with water and left the bucket with half of the water in a room of the house and went to sleep.

As usual, while Gayatri was cooking in the morning, the twins were playing in the room. The child Varshika (1) was playing near the water bucket when the bucket slipped into the water and fell upside down.



When Varnika shouted and Gayathri heard the cries, she came out and saw that the baby Varshika was submerged in water. Gayathri rescued the child and with the help of her husband Bhagyaraj rushed the baby to a nearby private hospital.

The doctors there referred the baby to coimbatore government hospital for further treatment. The doctors who examined the child said that he died on the way.

Following the post-mortem, the child was returned to her parents. The Vadavalli police have registered a case and are investigating the matter.
