6,967 Candidates to Appear for NEET in Coimbatore Tomorrow

NEET exam for medical undergraduate admissions scheduled for May 5. Coimbatore hosts the exam at 13 centers, with 6,967 candidates, including 371 from government schools.


Coimbatore: Coimbatore is set to host the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) tomorrow, aimed at admitting students into undergraduate medical programs including MBBS and BDS. Scheduled on Sunday, May 5th, it marks a crucial date for thousands of aspirants. The registration for this year’s exam spanned from February 9 to April 10.


Across 13 designated examination centers in the district including Peelamedu National Model School, Saravanampatti Public School, Puliyakulam Road Vidya Niketan School and more, a total of 6,967 candidates including 371 town government school students are expected to take the test.


Running from 2 PM to 5:20 PM, the exam will be conducted in 13 languages including Tamil, English, Hindi, Malayalam, and Telugu, covering Physics, Chemistry, Botany, and Zoology with 180 marks allotted per section tallying to a total of 720 marks.


Students are reminded to follow all given instructions on their hall tickets strictly and to reach their respective centers by 1:30 PM to avoid last-minute haste. NEET is known for its stringent rules regarding the ban on cellphones and specific dress codes at examination venues.
