In Narasimmanaickenpalayam, Coimbatore, a man named Satheesh was arrested within 24 hours for the murder and robbery of a woman named Renuka, stealing 3 1/2 sovereigns of gold from her.

Coimbatore: In a quick turn of events, Coimbatore Police captured Satheesh, accused of murdering a local woman, Renuka, and stealing her jewelry in the Narasimmanaickenpalayam area. The crime occurred in broad daylight, shocking the local community. Satheesh allegedly entered Renuka's house and committed the crime to settle his debts after he had pledged his car as collateral. The presence of CCTV footage from a neighboring house played a crucial role in the rapid apprehension of the suspect by the specially formed police team.

IG Bhavaniswari revealed to the media that the crime was admitted by Satheesh during interrogation. He allegedly killed Renuka after she noticed his presence during the robbery, using a knife to silence her and escape with the gold chains totaling 3 1/2 sovereigns. Following a thorough investigation using neighbouring CCTV footage, police traced the crime back to Satheesh, leading to his arrest.

This incident has raised concerns regarding the safety in residential areas, prompting IG Bhavaniswari to advocate for widespread installation of CCTV systems to deter potential criminals. The swift action by the police task force has been commended, demonstrating effective law enforcement in Coimbatore. The bereaved family, while grieving, received a note of consolation as Renuka's daughter secured impressive marks in her examinations, promising her educational support from local authorities.
