Kunnathur Pond Cleanup Initiative Set to Begin in Coimbatore

The Kunnathur Pond cleanup operation, spanning 135 acres in Coimbatore-Annur, Kattampatti-Kunnathur, starts on Saturday, May 18, 2024, at 10 AM, under the supervision of Coimbatore District Collector Kranthi Kumar Pati.


Coimbatore: A significant environmental initiative is taking shape in Coimbatore as the Coimbatore Lakes Protection Organization initiates the cleanup of Kunnathur Pond. This extensive project, covering 135 acres in the Coimbatore-Annur and Kattampatti-Kunnathur areas, is slated to commence on Saturday, May 18, 2024, at 10 AM. The operation has received the necessary permissions from the Water Resources Department and is funded through the CSR funds of Pannari Amman Sugars & Shiva Distilleries. District Collector Kranthi Kumar Pati is scheduled to inaugurate this important event, marking a significant step towards local environmental conservation. The initiative highlights the combined efforts of government and private entities in addressing ecological challenges.
