Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation Commissioner Inspects Pedestrian Overbridge Construction

On June 29, 2024, Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation Commissioner M Sivaguru Prabakaran IAS personally inspected the areas under construction for new pedestrian overbridges aimed at facilitating public movement.


Coimbatore: M. Sivaguru Prabakaran IAS, the Commissioner of Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation, conducted on-site inspections of the ongoing pedestrian overbridge projects in various localities under the Central Coimbatore region on June 29, 2024.



The initiative aims to provide safer pedestrian pathways across several busy junctions including Lakshmi Mill Junction, Gandhipuram Town Bus Stand, and the Ukkadam areas.



The move follows the government's announcement by Makkaludan Mudhalvar during an event in Pollachi. The statement detailed a renovation scheme worth Rs. 20 crores for modernizing the Ukkadam Bus Station, under the jurisdiction of Coimbatore Municipal Corporation. Following this announcement, the upgrading work at the Ukkadam Bus Station has been progressing under the watchful eyes of the City Corporation’s Commissioner, who is ensuring that all renovations adhere to the planned specifications.



During this inspection, accompanying the commissioner were Senior Town Engineer Anbalagan, Additional Police Commissioner Ravichandran, Assistant Commissioners Senthil Kumar and Ilankovan, Site Engineer Karuppasamy, Urban Planner Kumar, and Assistant Engineers Kamal Kannan, Kumaresan, Kumar, and Satheesh Kumar along with other Municipal staff. The team assessed the development and addressed any potential infrastructural concerns.
