Tragedy Strikes: Two, Including 8-Year-Old Boy, Drown While Fishing in Coimbatore

A tragic incident occurred in Coimbatore as two individuals, including an 8-year-old boy, drowned while fishing at Sengulam in Kuniamuthur. The victims were identified as Paris Ahamed (24) and his nephew Hayan Ahamed (8).


Coimbatore: In a heart-wrenching incident, two individuals, including an 8-year-old boy, lost their lives while fishing in Sengulam, Kuniamuthur, Coimbatore. The victims were identified as Paris Ahamed (24), a driver residing in Murugan Kovil Street, Madukkarai Market, and his nephew Hayan Ahamed (8), a second-grade student.

The tragic event unfolded when Paris and Hayan went fishing at Senkulam on October 3rd. Alarm bells rang when they failed to return home after an extended period. Worried family members searched nearby areas and relatives' houses but couldn't locate them.

On October 5th, passersby noticed a motorcycle, slippers, and other personal belongings near Sengulam. They promptly alerted the fire department. Upon arrival, the fire department personnel conducted a search operation in the pond, which led to the discovery of the bodies of Paris Ahamed and Hayan Ahamed.

The bodies were retrieved and sent to the ESI Hospital in Coimbatore for post-mortem examination. Family members who arrived at the hospital were inconsolable upon seeing the bodies of their loved ones.

The Kuniamuthur Police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the incident. They are probing whether the duo accidentally fell into the pond while attempting to fish or if there were any other circumstances leading to their tragic demise.

This unfortunate incident has cast a pall of gloom over the locality, leaving the community in shock and mourning the loss of two lives, especially that of young Hayan.
