Train services between Shoranur and Coimbatore will be affected on August 11 and 16, with Southern Railway announcing the full cancellation of the Shoranur–Coimbatore Passenger Train to facilitate ongoing engineering works in the Palakkad–Shoranur section.
According to the Salem Division of Southern Railway, engineering works related to the maintenance of railway tracks are being carried out in the Palakkad–Shoranur sector. The cancellation has been announced to facilitate the execution of these works.
Train No. 56604, the Shoranur–Coimbatore Passenger Train, which is scheduled to depart from Shoranur Junction at 8.20 a.m., will be fully cancelled on August 11 and 16, 2026.
Passengers planning to travel on the Shoranur–Coimbatore route on these dates have been advised to take note of the cancellation and make alternative travel arrangements.
