Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner Inspects Central Zone Cleanliness Operations

Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner Katta Ravi Teja inspected sanitation work in Ward 48 of the Central Zone, instructing workers on waste segregation. He also reviewed dengue eradication efforts and drainage cleaning operations in Gandhipuram areas.


Coimbatore: Corporation Commissioner Katta Ravi Teja conducted a detailed inspection of sanitation operations in the Central Zone today (10.08.2026), reviewing cleanliness initiatives across multiple locations.



The Commissioner inspected attendance registers of sanitation workers in Ward No. 48, covering Gandhipuram, 100 Feet Road, 2nd Street, Lakshmi Nagar, and Dr Radhakrishnan Road areas. He instructed sanitation workers to properly segregate waste into biodegradable and non-biodegradable categories and carry out their duties efficiently.

At Gandhipuram 2nd Street, Commissioner Katta Ravi Teja directed concerned officials to undertake stormwater drain desilting work. He directly interacted with local residents to ascertain whether water supply was being delivered regularly and inquired about any defects in street lighting. He also requested citizens to segregate their waste before handing it over to sanitation workers.

In the same area, the Commissioner conducted an extensive review of dengue mosquito eradication operations. He personally inspected and verified locations where dengue larvae were present.

During this inspection, Assistant Commissioner Ganesan, Zonal Health Officer Gunasekaran, and several Corporation officials accompanied the Commissioner.
