Southern Railway has extended the service period of the Tirunelveli–Mettupalayam weekly special trains from September 6 to 28, 2026, with four services in each direction. The trains will halt at Pollachi, Kinathukadavu, Podanur and Coimbatore Junction, among other stations.
Coimbatore: Southern Railway has extended the service period of the weekly special trains operating between Tirunelveli and Mettupalayam to meet the increasing passenger demand.
Train No. 06030 Tirunelveli–Mettupalayam Weekly Special will depart from Tirunelveli at 7.00 pm on Sundays from September 6 to September 27, 2026, with four services. The train will reach Mettupalayam at 7.30 am the following day.
In the return direction, Train No. 06029 Mettupalayam–Tirunelveli Weekly Special will depart from Mettupalayam at 7.45 pm on Mondays from September 7 to September 28, 2026, with four services, and will reach Tirunelveli at 8.05 am the next day.
The trains will have AC 2-Tier, AC 3-Tier, Sleeper Class, General Second Class and Luggage-cum-Brake Van coaches, including accommodation for differently abled passengers.
The special trains will stop at Cheranmahadevi, Kallidaikurichi, Ambasamudram, Kizhakadaiyam, Pavurchatram, Tenkasi, Kadayanallur, Sankarankovil, Rajapalayam, Srivilliputtur, Sivakasi, Virudhunagar, Madurai, Dindigul, Oddanchatram, Palani, Udumalaipettai, Pollachi, Kinathukadavu, Podanur and Coimbatore Junction.
