25 new buses flagged off

Chief Minister Jayalalithaa on Tuesday launched 25 new buses for the Coimbatore Division of Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC).

While five of the buses were flagged off from Chennai, the rest were handed over to drivers at the TNSTC divisional headquarters on Mettupalayam Road. These buses were replacement for old and worn out buses that had crossed the number of kilometres it should have been on the road.

These mofussil buses include 12 for Coimbatore, six for Erode and seven for Tirupur districts.

Managing Director of TNSTC, Coimbatore, R. Thangavelu and other officials were present at the event.
