Public cautioned to carry proper documents for cash in hand

With the election Code of Conduct coming into force, the district collector has requested the public to carry proper documents for the cash in their possession.

Following the announcement of assembly elections on May 16, the election Code of Conduct came into force from March 3 onwards. The District Collector and Chief Electoral Officer, Archana Patnaik, in a statement, said that there are ten flying squads and sixty Static Surveillance Teams deployed to carry out monitoring duty all over the district.

Around 1050 posters have been removed from various urban and rural areas of the district. She also advised that public should furnish proper documents while carrying cash of more than Rs.50,000. Failure to produce proper documents will lead to the seizure of the cash, she said.
