We feel grubby several times a day. The fast world of today offers us many alternatives and apps are ready to serve us 24 hours a day. Food whether cheap of expensive is available in plenty. Quality and service are important for they are harbingers of good health. Young Gurukrishna of Salem has founded DAILYGRUBS along with cousin Jishnu of Salem at West Ramalingam Road in R.S.Puram, Coimbatore. A rented kitchen and miniscule capital have not deterred the foodpreneur who is growing at a good pace in his city of hope - Coimbatore.

Gurukrishna had done his education from Vidyapeetham and SRK (schools) in Salem. While his father Sivasubramaniam is a chartered accountant, his mother Srimathi is a housewife. The sister Thanusri is doing her tenth standard. This bright young man is all of 23 years and has had an IT industry experience of two plus years. Kumaraguru College of Technology happens to be his alma mater. "I found my job to be engaging and also felt that it was not possible to learn much in my place of work. Besides, I wanted to be an entrepreneur and therefore I quit my job and founded Dailygrubs along with my cousin Jishnu who is 26 years old. Our venture came up in February 2019. I had worked in Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Chennai. The common problem faced by me was connected with food. Cost, quality, availability and taste kept me unhappy. I really missed my mother's cooking. This impelled me to start this venture. The initial idea was to come up with a restaurant which will offer affordable food for everyone. Then I came to know that ' cloud kitchens ' were being developed all over the country. This encouraged me to start one ' cloud kitchen '. Everyone looks at Chennai, but my experience in Coimbatore helped to me understand that the city is an emerging market. Once the idea popped up, I called my cousin Jishnu of Karur and sounded him out. We discussed the pros and cons. This helped us to understand the market potential and finally Dailygrubs was born. My inspiration was R.V.Srinivasan , the Correspondent of Vidya Peetham," stated Gurukrishna.

Dailygrubs functions out of a rented space in R.S.Puram and the business offers employment to 5 people ( 3 in the kitchen and 2 for delivery ). The business offers cooked lunch and it is delivered at the doorstep everyday. One can subscribe for a month by paying Rs.60 per day and just one lunch costs Rs.65. They are selling over 80 lunches a day and the investment has been Rs.2,00,000 until now. "We did not make money until we crossed 50 lunches per day. We offer appalam, rasam, poriyal, 2 kozhambhus, butter milk, rice and pickle on request . The recipes are from my mother and the employees. Taste checking was done by my friends. Every new item is checked by them. We do not charge for delivery. Just tying up with Swiggy. Traditional cooking is our forte. We use eco friendly packing material. The new rules did not affect us for we entered the market in 2019. Purchases are done on an everyday basis and this helps us to save up on space. The day begins by 6:30 AM and work goes on till 2:30 PM. We just offer lunch and will plan for the rest of the day in the near future," added the foodpreneur.

Ladies finger kozhambu, Sundakkaivatha Kozhambhu, Sundal Kozhambhu, More Kuzhambu etc., The poriyals include carrot, beans, beetroot, cabbage and soya. Gurukrishna wants to corporatize in the near future. He wants to offer quality food to school kids. Dailygrubs would offer affordable food to schools. He hopes to add facilities. "A lot of middle aged and older people have health issues. We wish to supply specific food in order to suit the dietary requirement of the clients. Dailygrubs has an Fssai, GST registration and the trademark is registered. Our website is http://www.dailygrubs.com and the facebook page is dailygrubs. The Instagram page is dailygrubs_ india. People can contact us through email : info.dailygrubs@gmail .com", stated Gurukrishna while attending to a phone call from a client.

Homemade food and cloud kitchens are slowly entering the market. Entrepreneurs like Gurukrishna are ushering in change. His story demonstrates the reality of creating an enterprise with limited capital. The will to succeed will take people places.
