Government employees wore black patches and participated in the one-day token strike Dharapuram in Tirupur to press for various demands, including abolition of CPSI and payment of Dearness Allowance.
Tirupur: The Tamil Nadu Government Employees' Union staged a one-day token strike in front of the highways department office and panchayat union office at Dharapuram in Tirupur district.
In this strike, the DMK demanded the abolition of the CPSI as per its election promise. They also raised slogans demanding the re-payment of frozen leave leave wages and the implementation of the hike in dearness allowance on the same date as the Union government implemented it.
The government employees who participated in the protest wore black patches, held placards with slogans of demand and raised slogans.
There was a tense situation in the area due to the protest.
