More than 1,000 families live in A Kurumbapalayam village under Avinashi panchayat in Tirupur district. Most of the people of the area are engaged in agriculture and relying on agriculture, they have started an agro-based group called Uzhavar Producers Committee and is run on behalf of women.

Meanwhile, the residents of the area alleged that the district administration is in the process of setting up a TASMAC shop and recreation hall to pose a threat to the people of the area. More than five government schools are functioning around the village. With more than 100 students studying in sexual relations, the setting up of a TASMAC shop and a recreation club would create a situation where the school students and women of the area would not be safe.
Similarly, incidents of crime like theft and dacoity are also likely to take place and the TASMAC shop and recreation hall will be set up in the place of a retired headmaster of the government. The district administration should not give permission for this. Despite that, the people of the area said that if permission is granted, they will go on strike.
