Vadavalli Teacher's House Robbed: 2 Arrested for Stealing Jewellery and Cash

Two persons have been arrested in connection with the theft of 12 sovereigns of jewellery and Rs 10,000 in cash from a school teacher's house in Vadavalli. 8 sovereigns of jewellery was seized from them.

He is survived by his wife Bhagyalakshmi (41). He works as a teacher at Vadavalli Maruthamalai Devasthanam School. On March 23, Bhagyalakshmi locked her house as usual and went to work. When he returned, he found that the cupboard in the house was broken and 12 sovereigns of gold ornaments and Rs 10,000 and half a kg of silver articles were stolen from inside.

Vadavalli police have registered a case and are investigating the matter. Also, a special squad was formed on the orders of district SP Badrinarayanan to nab the miscreants. Based on the CCTV camera recordings and cell phone signals installed in the area where the theft took place, prakash (33), son of Anandakumar of Anna Nagar in Ondipudur and Prakash (26), son of Mani, a resident of Chellanur New Colony in Annur, were nabbed by the Special Cell police.

During their interrogation, it was established that the duo had broken the lock of the teacher's house and looted cash and jewellery. Following this, the police arrested the duo and seized 8 sovereigns of gold ornaments from their possession. The two were later produced in court and sent to jail.
