Vellalore canal blocked for decades, to be cleaned tomorrow by volunteers

You might know Vellalore for its dump yard today. But there is a huge lake and a check dam that was built during the Chola Period and a cleaning drive is being done after nearly decades of inactivity. This check dam is the one that leads the water into the Vellalore lake. This canal/checkdam was built during the Chola period and Vellalore lake is present in one of the largest villages in Asia. This is the same team that did a tireless job of cleaning the Perur lake for over 4 weeks.
