Mossam Kumar, 30, who was arrested for allegedly possessing 5.250 kg of ganja and ganja chocolates for sale in the Madukkarai police station limits of Coimbatore district, has been detained under the Goondas Act as a drug offender.
Coimbatore: The accused, identified as Mossam Kumar, from North India, was arrested in a case involving the alleged illegal possession of 5.250 kg of ganja and ganja chocolates for sale. He was subsequently remanded in judicial custody.
Considering his alleged involvement in illegal drug-related activities, Coimbatore District Superintendent of Police Pavan K. Reddy recommended preventive action against him under the Goondas Act.
Based on the recommendation, Coimbatore District Collector Pavankumar K. Griyappanavar issued an order for his detention under the Act.
Accordingly, Mossam Kumar was detained as a drug offender under the Goondas Act and lodged in prison.
