Iconic IAS Officer Sagayam's insightful speech at TNAU



The 'Anti-Corruption movement' of Coimbatore district had organised, today a special seminar on 'Save our Motherland' at the Tamilnadu Agricultural University (TNAU). The conference hosts keynote sessions, seminars, debates, essay writing competitions for college students, to create awareness amongst the youngsters on corruption along with felicitation of honest government officials.

U. Sagayam, Iconic Senior IAS officer in Tamil Nadu, who is widely known and appreciated for his anti-corruption activities was the Chief Guest for the event. 



“One who involves in corruption is worse than a pickpocket, a thief or a robber’ such forceful lines slamming on corruption were quoted in the banners displayed at the seminar hall. Sagayam through his incisive speech fostered the minds of the listeners on the compelling need to strike against corruption. 

He remarked that all requisite documents relating to the illegal quarrying has been duly submitted to the High Court and that he expects a fair judgement in the issue. He strongly affirmed that anti-corruption is definitely not against the Government indeed if addressed earnestly, it will strengthen the Government. 

He strongly embedded the thought that corruption hinders the growth of the Nation and public servants involving in corruption should be punished severely, as they draw salaries and benefits from the tax payers money.

The encroachments at the water bodies adversely hinders the welfare of the farmers and agriculture, hence the government should pay more attention in annihilating the encroachments throughout all water bodies in Tamil Nadu, he said.

He appreciated the initiative of anti corruption movement Coimbatore District Unit for its gesture of honouring the honest officials every year for their selfless service to the society.

The panel of judges comprising of the office bearers of the Anti Corruption Movement Coimbatore District, Mr.Durai Kumaravel President, Vice President are K.K.Muthuswamy and K.Palanisamy, Secretary N.K.Velu, Joint Secretary N.Thiyagarajan. retired government officials from various departments, announced the following government officials for their honest services for the people. Thiru. Sagayam, felicitated the officers.
