Fun with a Cause – Shivanjali Garage Sale and Carnival

Started with a simple mission to serve, love and give, Shivanjali is an apostle of culture and traditions. It is abode to various wings of dance, culture, food, tradition and all this to support the needful of the city.

Like every year for the last five years, Shivanjali has been conducting their fund raising carnival which is power packed with loads of fun activities for not just the children but the elders too.

The carnival is unusually different from the rest of the carnivals held across the city, unlike the other places where the purpose is to generate sales or promote commercial activities, at Shivanjali the motive is to promote and showcase the talent of not just the students of the academy but also the parents who willingly have participated for a cause of charity.

The decor of the place is done colourful with lot of props made out of waste and unwanted things and what is surprising is that it is completely done by the students themselves.

The garage sale is the perfect place to buy a lot of household items at a throw away price, because all the articles is a collective of surplus stuff which is unused and donated by people. The money earned would go for charity. So if you have something at home that is lying unused, it’s time to donate so that money derived out of selling can help the under privileged section for the society.

Apart from the garage sale, there are stalls from various parts of the country selling mostly handloom and eco-friendly articles.

And that’s not all; the food is the biggest attraction of the place. The aroma of freshly made popcorns, hot...hot pakoras, yummy pav bhaji and to finish it all desserts that are made by the students and their parents.

Fascinating isn’t it, and there is still more to go, the activities that are reminiscent of all the childhood games you called. Right from dumbcharas to free painting, from break the wall with a ball to sing a song, there is everything for every age group.

So if you are still wondering what fun activity to do on a Sunday, read the article again, because you can’t miss the carnival and its fun.
