Weekends will be more fun with this new adventure park in Coimbatore


The love for adventure and entertainment was for long futilely yearning in the hearts of Coimbatoreans for many years with the scope for both being very narrow. In order to quench the thirst of the fun loving people of Namma Coimbatore, Fortress Valayar, an adventure campsite situated at the foothills of Western Ghats provides just the right blend for people from various parts of texcity.



Placed beautifully by a river side facing the Western Ghats, the site at Mavuthampathi behind the Country Club Resorts has been set up by a Chennai based adventure company, Wilderness Explorers Academy, to promote adventure sports, camping, eco-tourism, personality development programmes and plenty of fun.



Offering various programmes ranging from a single day’s outing to even weeklong activities to students from schools and colleges and members from corporate companies, the campsite not only offers a refreshing experience, but also an enriching knowledge base about nature and its importance.

In order to regale the campers, an array of adventure sports has been installed in the arena to cater to the entertainment thirst of people from various age groups. Activities including coracle rides, paintball etc, are all set to give people an unforgettable adventure and also impart social responsibilities.

A short walk along a perennial stream and a refreshing bath in a small waterfalls gives an overall joyous camping experience.

K.M. Vandhan, Camp Manager said that the second division of the company is a training centre named "The Wilderness School" which conducts experimental learning programmes for students and corporate executives. “The school offers Young Indians Empowerment and Leadership Development Programme (YIELD) and Leadership Mentoring Programme (LMP) with the activities involving team participation,” he said.



He further added that the experience would help inculcate moral values and help the campers understand the challenges of life. “These activities are unique and new to Coimbatore. We have opened our gates for corporate day outings recently and have successfully hosted more than 170 members".
