" I was always eager to do something mega and every time I moved places I assumed that it was my destiny. However it was not to be. I was primarily an ERP Sales Head in Chennai and the Middle East for a while. A ' Town Hall ' meeting with one of the captains of a big industrial group changed it all. I had wanted to know why his conglomerate had not become bigger ! The senior person told me that the group had its own reasons, ethics and social responsibilities backed by both achievements and contentment. On learning that I came from Coimbatore , he wanted to know why the once enterprising Coimbatore had not produced billion dollar companies. The city had been famous for engineering, textiles, transport, cinema and jewellery in the past. The statesman entrepreneur went on and stated that only a businessman can create change. He told me that enterprises run countries. These words impacted me and in order to take this forward , I had to understand business. I wanted to be an ' Intrapreneur ' and therefore decided to work on a business model inside my place of work, " stated Arun Dayanithi who is married to Manjusha.

The team that Arun worked for identified EDI ( a messaging format ) as a great opportunity. It had been expensive but they saw a huge chance. The company was among leaders while bidding for the space. " We decided and proposed the cheapest EDI in the world. Rajan Senthil was my boss and we created a model like ' Jio '. Our model was to make things easier for the automotive eco system. In spite of moving forward against all odds we lost out to an international biggie at the deciding round. While I was with the TVS group, I understood how to do a merger & acquisition, how to raise funds and how all of this can impact the industry and the eco system. This was thanks to Sathish Krishnan. His guidance and approach helped me enormously. Thereafter, I went to the virtual reality start up Metarvrse ( XR Labs ) before moving over to Coimbatore in order to take the Kongunad 2030 Vision forward. I had moved on from selling credit cards from a call centre to US ( first job ). Now the time has come to make work in the Kongu region, " smiled Arun.

Arun Dayanithi has a mission for Kongunadu, " Our region has been known for international commerce from the Roman times. We had earned a lot of gold and silver as foreign exchange because of our exports to the rest of the world and this included the powerful Roman Empire too. I feel that we can replicate success by concentrating on the SME sector. My goal is to raise more than a billion dollars as capital for this region and add about Rs.40000 crores as market cap within 12 years from now. In order to achieve this about 200 companies will have to go into an IPO ( Initial Public Offer ) mode. Fund raising should be through several avenues and it should include private equity as well. Tech based global companies should rise from Kongunadu".

Dhrona Consulting ( promoted by Arun Dayanithi ) is working with a number of start ups nationally. Right now 2 out of the 9 companies have secured funds. Arun has been an enabler and venture funds were about to raise 1 million dollars from the Kongu region due to his intervention. " Now several tech based start ups will have money from this region. Coimbatore, Karur, Erode and Tirupur are my zones within Kongunadu. Karur is now emerging as a strong area. The directors of the Bombay Stock Exchange visited Karur for the first time. A lot of money is going to flow into India over the next 10 years. If the Kongunadu belt prepares itself for the next entrepreneurial revolution, we should be able to grab the resources with all the power and might. We need to accumulate ideas, capital and technology on an urgent basis in order to move forward. It has to be done with alacrity and wisdom." stated the dynamic Arun.

A number of people had discouraged Arun from getting into this terrain. They suggested that he take up such activities after the age of 40. However, Arun decided to move ahead after meeting up with a number of people who had lost out in the investing banking area in the last 10 to 15 years. He has assimilated much from their experiences. " Most of them had been going to the same group of people and they had taken an individualistic approach. I understood that none of them had worked on creating an identity or platform. Therefore I decided to take a different route. Korea and China can show us the way. Now we need technology, networking, brand building, public relations and human resource management etc., to be harnessed for the benefit of this region. Its time that we created a phalanx which will help us to move forward, " added the facilitator who wants to be one among the many pursuing the same dream.

"The SME sector is vibrant in Tamilnadu. A number of SME entrepreneurs from the Kongunadu region are not recognized. They have a huge potential and much of it has to be tapped further. A platform for taking entrepreneurship forward is a big need of the hour. Kongunadu is like a large and lovely gem encrusted ornament which has the potential to glow eternally in the world of commerce, " stated Arun while sharing statistics in a purposeful manner. He sincerely feels that our mind has the power to transform us and put us on the path of growth.

Arun is really impressed with Jack Ma of Ali Baba, " He has done the impossible by doing an e commerce activity which totaled $ 31 billion on one single day. It is much more than the combined annual e commerce sale in India. He is breaking the norms today. If it is possible in a populous country like China, why can't we replicate it in our Kongu region. After all , this region has consistently added value to the entrepreneurial eco system in India. A huge opportunity is at our doorstep. Its time that we created a story for the Kongu region globally. We have the right inputs and an eco system. The KONGUNADU VISION 2030 is a distinct reality. It is now or never. Let's move ahead by holding hands and co operating with the fellow entrepreneurs of this region. The ' Entrepreneurial Revolution ' is sure to add on a lot of good to this wonderful region."
